i created a 24 junkie....

You all know that I love the show 24...it kicks ass...and of course Kiefer is hummina hummina gorgeous.

Well, I shared my 24 obsession with my friend Kelly....I loaned her season one and season two DVDs of 24. I thought she would like the show...and since she didn't have cable, it is something she could watch in her free time.

She is just a tad hooked now.....and is desperately looking forward to season three. She calls me at work last night....all in a panic wanting to know if President Palmer is dead at the end of season two. It was too humorous.

Maybe I will keep her insane....and withhold season three from her. *evil cackle*

I watched Terminator 3 last night....since there wasn't a lot at the video store that I wanted to rent and I had never seen T3 before. I heard from some people that it was good and from some people that it sucked monkey balls...so, I decided to see it for myself.

It wasn't bad...and I like Nick Stahl. My main complaint is that it seemed too similar to T2...I would have liked to have seen it be more different.

Hmmm....let me remark for a paragraph or so about how much I think Arnold is a douche bag.
I will say...I was not a fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger before...being the life sucking governor of California that he is and from listening to the audio commentary....it didn't make me any more of a fan of the man. He went on and on about how he was going to be naked in the film...yadda yadda yadda.... and how he was Mr Universe and all the other steroid inducing awards he won when he was younger. And then he went on this sexist banter about how the newest Terminator was a woman and how she had this perfect, naked body...and how they gave her these expanding breasts (which he felt that women all throughout the audience must be jealous of...because they know that some men like large breasts and some men like smaller breasts...so women all across the nation would love the feature to make their breasts to their man's liking).

grrrr.....me no likey Arnold. I hope in the next election that the people of California terminate him.

See...I make everything political...even the Terminator, but oh well...I can't help it.

Hey y'all....

I didn't think I was going to get my post in for Sunday...but here I am. I was watching the Red Sox game...and they won....Yanks lost. I should seriously watch more Red Sox games since I have never watched a game that they have lost.

I had to work today....and even though I thoroughly enjoyed my day off, I think it spoiled me and just made me more time today at work. It wasn't too bad at all though. And tomorrow...I only have to work at the video store...since I get the day off at the day job.

*yawns* But now...it is beddy bye time. Nite all.

I would like to remark...

That currently...

The Red Sox are winning...

and that means...the Yankees are losing!

That is all.

Friday Feast...oh how I love you!

Yes, I have forsaken the Friday Feast and just not done it in the longest time. I got too busy and then just forgot about it. I know...I am bad.

So, here is the Friday Feast for this week:

Feast Forty Nine

Appetizer
What job would you definitely not want to have?
I think there are a lot of jobs I would not like to have, but I will go with the gross jobs...like the people who pick up garbage for a living...or who have to clean out or maintain the sewers. I would hate a job where I just leave smelling like filth all the time.

Soup
Oprah calls and wants you to appear on her show. What would that day's show be about?
I would want the show to be about poverty...and how many of the policies of this country and our government keep many of our people in the desperation of poverty. I know that Oprah is someone who would have something to say about the issues of hunger and poverty...given her life and history.

Salad
Name 3 vegetables that you eat on a regular basis.
Since I am a vegetarian...this is easy. I eat carrots ALL the time...I eat them like they are going out of style. I also eat lots of cucumbers...and snap peas. I could list countless veggies that I eat on a regular basis, but I will follow the rules and leave it to three.

Main Course
If you were commissioned to rename your hometown, what would you call it?
Shelleyville...of course. Hmm, I am not sure...I think that I would leave it alone, since the name talks a lot about our history and where we came from. Sometimes I think we should leave well enough alone.

Dessert
If you had a personal assistant, what kind of tasks would you have them to do?

Eek..I would have a hard time having a personal assistant...or at least I think I would. But, if I had one...I think I would have that person do the daily maintance and up-keep on the house...and, I would have the person make healthy meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner...so, I would have no excuse for eating crap.

TGIF!!!

I am so happy it is Friday...let me tell you. We worked really hard today..mowing cemeteries and such with community service workers. I's tired.

I am going to get the day OFF tomorrow...which I am going to do nothing. I am NOT going to set my alarm. It's gonna be nice.

not the brightest bulb...

One of our lovely clients made the news and will make the paper tomorrow morning.

Why you ask? Because he decided to light himself on fire...and is now burned over 60% of his body. The police and the news are saying that he might have been trying to burn his house arrest ankle bracelet off, but well...that doesn't make a lot of sense. He knows full well that if he wants the bracelet off...and plans on running, that a pair of scissors cuts it off.

Who knows why he did what he did...all we know if that he poured lighter fluid on himself and lit himself on fire.

Brilliant, eh?

*yawns*

I was at drug court last night...until after 9pm. I am a tired, tired kid.

I cannot wait until Saturday....when I actually have a day off. I haven't had one in well over a month. I know...pity party for me! *winks*

Off to work I go....

trying is lying, trying is dying...

I haven't posted in forever....and each time I come back, I make some statement that I am going to try to post more.

Well, I started thinking about that last week...when I was in drug court for work with our clients. In drug court, you are not allowed to say the word try in court. Why, you ask? Because saying you will "try to do something" is not making a commitment to do anything. Trying to do something is just setting yourself up with an out clause because if you don't get it done...you can just say that you TRIED to do it, etc.

That notion is incredibly important when we are talking about addiction and recovery because recovery doesn't work...if you just try at it. You have to make a commitment to it, in every way.

Now...my little website of Shelley thoughts...is much less important, but since I am on this kick...I am going to make a commitment to it. I am going to commit to posting at least once a day for the next week. They don't need to be long posts...or even incredibly meaningful posts, but they just need to be posts.

I enjoy blogging...and I have been neglecting it for much too long now.

I need to do better than trying.

*winks*

Talk to y'all tomorrow...if not sooner.
