UJ: cute as a button....

I was at Wal-Mart today doing a little shopping...yes, I am...Wal-Mart is the devil, but anyways...I was there and saw the cutest thing.

There was this old man going through the store in one of those mobile wheelchair carts....and there he is holding the hand of his little grand-daughter who looked like she was about 5 or 6 years old. It was just the cutest thing ever....

I had a really nice dinner last night...it's really wonderful to have dinner and then not feel the need to immediately leave the restaurant. We sat there for like two hours and just chatted....it was quite an enjoyable evening. And then I came home, plopped down on my bed and drifted off to sleep....zzzzzzz....

Hope Saturday is finding everyone well...

UJ: mornin'

This week has been pretty good at work....I think it showed me how much I needed the vacation I had. It left me so refreshed and so much more able and prepared to do the work I needed to.

and umm...brrrr!!! It is cold here in Indiana. It was 5 degrees on Tuesday with a windchill of -20 to -30....brrrr! And then yesterday it was about 15 degrees...and today is so supposed to be a high of 28 or so. I don't particularly mind cold since I am really used to it, but 5 degrees is just ridiculous.

Alright....out in the cold and off to work!

UJ: Happy New Year Everyone!

Hey all...welcome to 2004!

So far, in the 12 hours or so...it's been a good year! I think the best thing is that I spent the last few days cleaning....so, my apartment is neat and in order. It's one of the reasons I came back from spending the holiday with my family early....cause my apartment was a wreck and felt the need to do something about it. So now...it's clean and liveable....and I hope that lasts for a while.

So..on to resolutions....I am not a big fan of New Year's Resolutions...since I think you should make changes when they need to be made and not when Jan. 1st comes around and I think that people make their resolutions so lofty that there is usually no chance for success. But having said that, I do have a few things I would like to focus on.

1. To write 2004 on all my checks.... hee, hee...it usually takes me until mid February to get used to writing the current year.

2. To learn how to use my new Palm Pilot...with all its swanky features.

3. To spend more time with friends and loved ones and less time at work.

4. To return to an exercise routine that I really enjoy...and that fits into my life.

5. To *attempt* to keep my apartment something close to clean....it's not so hard and I am so much happier when my apartment is clean and pretty.

6. To not take things so seriously....

7. Get more involved in things that I am passionate about (politics, policy issues, campaigns, volunteering, music and the list goes on and on....)

and that's about it....

Oh...and one of my dear friends got engaged on New Year's Eve. We all knew it was coming....so, it was no surprise! But, CONGRATS to her! Those two are just made for one another....and I am so excited for them! Much love to you both!!!

Happy New Year all....
