The Red Sox just lost to the Toronto Blue Jays....grrr...and to make matters worse, the Yankees just won, so the Yankees are now a game ahead in the division. Bronson Arroyo is hot as hell...but his pitching sure wasn't tonight.

Fuck the Yankees.

Yes, I am bitter...I am currently living in the bitter barn.

I know this season will come down to the series between the Red Sox and the Yanks...but I hoped that the Red Sox would be coming in with the lead.

I will be crossing my fingers for the Red Sox...wanna join me?

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N!!!!

Yep, that's right...this week I am on vacation from my day job. whoo hoo!

So, what did I do today? I spent almost the whole day cleaning. My room was a mess...and it was all my fault. I have been so busy...and yes lazy...in the last few weeks that my room was just getting horribly messy. I woke up this morning and just couldn't handle it anymore. So, I went a'cleanin!

Tomorrow...I am going to do laundry...the piles of clothes that need to be cleaned is a biproduct of all the cleaning.

It does feel nice to accomplish something...and to have the time to do it.

Officially on the payroll...

Yesterday was my last day as an Americorps member with the county. It's been a great 9 months or so...and I am so happy I did it. The positive side...I am staying on with the county and now...my salary has about tripled.

No, that doesn't mean I am a millionaire...it just shows you how much money I WASN'T making as an Americorps member! lol

I loved doing Americorps...I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a job that may not pay a lot, but can pay you a million times over with the experience and connections.

Now...it is officially time for me to start looking for an apartment and get out of my parents' house. I adoringly love them...but Shelley needs her independence again!

P.S. I am crossing my fingers for the Red Sox tonight...do the same, why dontcha??

dusting off the place a bit...

I went through a bunch of my weblinks over there on the left...I added a couple, I updated a couple to have the correct address and yes, I deleted a bunch.

If I deleted your site...it's not personal, I assure you. I just needed to clean a little house. And, I for sure know...with my sporadic and something non-existant posting habits...I know I have been removed from more than a few blogrolls.

I still have a few I need to weed out...cause I would really like the blogroll to be my consistent reads...not my consistent reads once upon a time.

P.S. If Kelly ever gave me her website address...I know for sure that I would have added her over there. But she's mean...whatcha gonna do! *sticks tongue out*

Andre = good egg

Andre Agassi didn't win the US Open this year...but I still think he's a hero. I have been an Agassi fan for about 15 years now and all I can say is that Agassi is all class...and hung with the best player in the world and gave him a true run for his money. He's 35 years old...and everyone else that Andre grew up playing with has retired, but not Andre. Not only is he not retired, but he is competing with the best of them. He went to the finals of the US open...and is currently ranked #7 in the world.

It is just a joy to watch the man play.....and I hope he doesn't retire anytime soon.

Plus...he's dreamy...hummina, hummina, hummina!

Unabomber Quiz...

I stole this quiz from Matt...why, because I just can't get enough of the stealing! *winks*

Here is the results of my lovely quiz...it's fun...you should try it...all the cool kids are doing it!

MY SCORE: 16
Thanks for matching wits with Ted Kaczynski, and feel free to take the test again. Remember, the quiz is highly unscientific (so keep telling yourself that if you scored north of 35). The Smoking Gun has no idea what your score means, but here are a few guesses:

0-10: Way too low. Probably cheated. Sign of mental illness.
11-20: You're normal. Right.
21-30: Prefers the IBM Selectric to the IBM Think Pad.
31-35: Probably pricing shacks in Montana.
36-40: Your mother and brother are starting to worry about you.

P.S. Matt got a 34...I knew I was more normal than he was!!!

how time flies...

I can't believe it is September 1st already...it seems like this summer has just flown right by. It makes me miss those days...as a kid...when the summer was about no responsibility and just playing at the park or the beach all day long.

Or...those times in college...when the summer was about that elusive break (which was usually full of more work than anything else), but still...it was that time off school before you returned for another year, etc.

I thought about being a school social worker for about a second and a half...and I loved the idea of that job for a lot of reasons, but one of them was definitely the perk of getting school vacations and summers off. I had visions of spending a summer backpacking through Europe, etc.

Next Monday is Labor Day....and back to the grind we go! But then again, I love the fall season...I find something so energizing about the changes in colors and when the air that that cold nip to it at night.

Happy Thursday y'all....
